We hope to have all details tomorrow. We emailed anthony. We also emailed our webmaster the 2008 info, hopefully it will be posted later this week, so everyone can read all of the options. Talk several months ago was that the court might not be game ready.

It's time to speak up. The court at Anthony's might not be game ready. Other options: play at John's house (even though we haven't run that by him yet), play at the sewer goal, which is a 10 ft. half court goal near his house, play at Porter part on the half court 10 ft. goal, also near his house, and also Santa Fe, with 9 ft. goals, with the option for 1/2 court or full court.

When Darrell Bowersox stations himself next to the conveyor belt in the Harter Union cafeteria, he's tracking the leftover food found on the dishes.
Bowersox soon discovers the students' culinary likes and dislikes. He makes sure to adjust the menus accordingly.
"You know instantly what people are eating and not eating," said Bowersox, director of food service at Baker University. "It also gives me time to talk to students and get to know them. If someone knows you and knows your name, the more likely they'll walk in the door and say something to you."
Bowersox has worked in food service for 32 years, including the past 21 years at Baker. Before coming to Baker in the mid-1980s, the former Navy cook directed food service at Hutchinson Community College.
"It's a challenge to keep people happy with all their different food tastes," said Bowersox, a Coffeyville native and Pittsburg State graduate. "I listen and I try hard to have a good program to start with. You have to care about what you do."
Bowersox credits the devotion of his food service workers, including three long-time employees, for the department's success. Amanda Barnes (24 years), Linda Eckman (22 years) and Johnnie Jardon (21 years) have been at Baker since Bowersox began working there.
"We're very blessed," said Bowersox, who oversees 12 full-time employees. "We have a lot of people who have been here a long time and Baker is more than a job to them. They really care about what they do. The trick is to keep it all going at same time: the Wildcat Café, catering, cafeteria and concessions at the football stadium."
Bowersox and his staff are willing to take on any duty to make sure all the food programs thrive.
"We'll do whatever it takes to get the job done, whether it's mopping the floor or doing the dishes," he said. "That shows everybody that their job is important. We have an army without rank."
Tanya Sieber, catering coordinator, appreciates the trust Bowersox has in her and the rest of the staff.
"I have creative culinary freedom for the first time in my professional career," Sieber said. "Darrell trusts me enough to step back and let me do my thing. Darrell is also the first person to jump in and help me when I need it. We are a team and all work together. I can always count on Darrell to cover for me when I can't be here and need help with the bigger functions."
Bowersox cares about the community. He's been involved in numerous Baldwin City organizations, including the Lions Club, American Legion, Maple Leaf Committee and the Boy Scouts.
"Darrell has been instrumental in developing and strengthening Baker's relationship with the community through his own ties with the groups," said Sieber. "He has always been willing to spend his own time and energy putting these things together for the community because he feels it's important."

forget yesterdays post about no team changes. We did not anticipate any scratches from the event. for the next week, the adl will make final decision on player personnel. we will post teams 5 days before the tournament.

we have the potential 8 teams with 2 pools scenario drawn out. we just need to contact our reserve player(s) to make it happen. if not, we will go back to 7 teams, but with 8 teams the tourney will move much faster. no, the entry fee stays the same. if we have 8, the adl will be out of the red, and anthony has a chance to make money.

it's just basketball, but it seems there is always some added drama. We are one player short, vince is out, but we will still add the 8th team. Bryce might make a comeback, if I invite him back, however, he pulled a no show 2 years ago, a la nick j. the teams will be re-ordered. Everyone wanted me to post teams last month, but I knew that we should have waited until next week, as we always do, because there is always an issue. the teams posted from omaha will be changed. sorry for the confusion.

lastest news from the adl, we are looking at adding an 8th team, with the capacity to win zero to two games total. however, it will make the tournament move faster. Nick R, Jeff S., David Y., one a former Wardster, the other current still. Confirmation will come within 2 days. If so, there will be two pools of four teams, in which each team plays the other teams in its own pool once, and then at random teams will be drawn to play two teams from the other pool. This will make for less games, and less down time. With seven teams, there is potential to sit for close to an hour. More news to follow.

2004 wins overall because Anthony will be hungry for a title, Andy will work the scoop shot, and John won't be stopped. The twin one-story buildings of Tim and Josh put up a great fight on the boards, and Tim hits some outside shots as well. Chris does his best to penetrate and dish, but John alters too many shots, leading to a victory.

After the conclusion of the ADL there will be a benefit held for my good friend Billy Brimblecom at the Record Bar in Westport. Billy had cancer and had to have his left leg amputated above the knee, and needs $ for a prosthesis. Newest ADL event: ADL POP-A-SHOT. David W. has agreed to bring a portable machine to the ADL for some "between game" action. Maybe 30 seconds each, set up a tourney. Or just some sweet pig tournaments, or $20 a shot, whatever.

Early Bracetology:
Westwood View will compete, but fall short.
Big But Not Phat is a early favorite with Will leading the way. He can keep the youngsters focused, but in the end there age will be the end of them.
3pt Threat will hang tough, but Joel will shoot them out of it.
Jumanji can take home the title if someone can tell Nick to stop doing the box car and go inside. Daniel has been working on his J, but may tire before the days end.
The Jayhawks will be tough, but flame out just like Anthony's passion to play anymore.
Smart & Low has a good chance. If Alex aka The Slasher, can not slash and just pass they may be ok. Andy has sneaky post moves and Brett is a Mystery.
I see the SMN Legends making an early exit. Damon is a large ? and will be the X factor. Will he dunk on people or will done after one and a half games.
